Gwyneth Bathes With Her Kids. Is that Weird?

Gwenyth Paltrow. I find it possible to love her and hate her in the same minute. She is so annoyingly perfect and smug and yet has moments of realness.

But this post isn't really about her. It is about an issue that she brought up in a recent article in Harper's Bazaar in which she mentions bathtime in her house.

She says of the daily routine with Apple, seven and Moses, five: "we all get into the tub together". It was a small comment, but it is being focused on by the media and commenters.

Aside from the fact that you can probably do laps in the Paltrow/Martin bathtub, is it strange for a parent to be bathing with her kids? Families from many different cultures bathe together and it isn't considered weird or perverse, but in North America it is a different story.

I'm not really a bath person (sitting in dirty water - yech), but I think if that is what the family is used to, then I don't have a problem with it. Do you?

Do you think it is different if it is a mother or a father in the tub?

Haley at Today's Parent pulled some other interesting quotes from the article, including what Gwyneth said about feminism and marriage...

Want more chaos? Last year, I wrote about our memory-making trip to Disneyworld, it even managed to shake a little of the cynicism off of me.
