Bethenny & Rachel Ray Tell Nursing Moms to Cover Up

Bethenny Frankel, parenting expert, thinks breastfeeding should only be done in private unless you are Pamela Anderson and everyone has seen your breasts anyways, so it doesn't matter.

And since Rachel Ray (another noted parenting expert) agrees, everyone should go cover up now.

Bethenny Frankel isn't really a parenting expert, but she plays one on TV. Well, she just plays herself on TV - a neurotic, narcissistic, skinny, reality TV star who has turned her journey from being a Real Housewife to new mom into a hit and a brand. The mother of baby Brynn has been open about her breastfeeding struggle and her recent comments on the Rachey Ray Show about her distaste for breastfeeding in public has started online moms talking.

As I have blogged before, I think breastfeeding in public is normal and necessary. My guess is that as Michelle Obama launches her gentle crusade to encourage breastfeeding, more people will listen to Bethenny. Despite the fact that the First Lady has science and experience on her side, more people will listen to the woman who used to be on Real Housewives of New York.

Just like more people listened to Jenny McCarthy and stopped vaccinating their kids, instead of listening to the hundreds of scientists who disproved the link between autism and vaccinations.

Just like all the women who have listened to Heidi Klum's diet advice and Marilu Henner's (questionable) parenting hints.

Who do we listen to celebrities when it comes to parenting? They are narcissists surrounded by privilege. We can't even trust anything they say because it all goes through a public relations filter.

But yet, when a celebrity says something about parenting we are all listening. Why?

Do you think there are any celebrities giving good parenting advice? Do you listen or just laugh it off?
